Tino Sehgal

Tino Sehgal studied Choreography and Economics in Berlin and at the Folkwang University of Arts in Essen. In his works participants enacting the works interact with the exhibition’s visitors by means of movement, spoken word and singing.  Sehgal is the youngest artist to ever represent Germany at the Venice Biennale (with Thomas Scheibitz in 2005). 2013 he was awarded the Golden Lion for the Best Artist at the same exhibition. Among others,  his solo exhibitions have taken place at the Guggenheim Museum in New York, Tate Modern, London, Palais de Tokyo in Paris, the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, the Museum for Modern Art in Frankfurt, Gropius Bau in Berlin,  as well as the Kunsthaus Bregenz in Austria.
