Robert Trappl is a former University Professor and now director of the Austrian Research Institute for Artificial Intelligence (OFAI), where he also supervises the department "Applied Cognitive Science and Social Robotics". Robert Trappl deals with questions about the functioning of the human psyche and under what circumstances machines can and should be equipped with Artificial Intelligence (AI). In 1969 Trappl and other scientists founded the Austrian Study Society for Cybernetics. Since its founding in 1984, Trappl has led the Austrian Research Institute for Artificial Intelligence (OFAI) in Vienna with great enthusiasm.
