Jakob Brossmann is an Austrian filmmaker who produced set designs for productions at, inter alia, the Vienna Volkstheater, Schauspielhaus Graz, Residenztheater in Munich, Bavarian State Opera in Munich, Schauspielhaus Zürich, Theater an der Wien and Academy Theatre Vienna. Just recently he received the Austrian Film Prize in the documentary category for his documentary film "Lampedusa im Winter", which has already won numerous awards (including the Vienna Film Prize 2015, Boccalino d'Oro Award, Audience Prize of the Duisburg Film Week). Lecturing and teaching activities have taken him to the University of Applied Arts Vienna, Cornell University and the Ethnocineca Film Festival Vienna. In his latest movie “Gehört, Gesehen – Ein Radiofilm” Jakob Brossmann portrayed the Austrian cultural radio station Ö1 together with David Paede.
