It happened only few years ago, that the 'self' of man, which psychology has long been busy with, has become a focus in neuroscientific research as well. The discovery of the self-networks and their further exploration made clear that the neuronal representation of one's own person, of significant others and of a sense of 'us' are closely connected. The 'self' of people needs social resonance to maintain its stability – above all in times of crisis. Recent studies show: Not only our social environment but also nature, which which is increasingly damaged by humanity, is an indispensable resonance space.
