Byung-Chul Han is a South Korean-born German philosopher and cultural theorist, based in Berlin. He was professor for philosophy and cultural sciences at the Berlin University of the Arts and is still occasionally giving courses there. He is investigating issues of transparency, security, mindfulness and the particular problematic of exhaustion and fatigue in a “society of tiredness” (Müdigkeitsgesellschaft). He also has interest in the idea and understanding of life and death in our society. It is time for a new perspective!
